Why should health insurers get paid twice while you struggle to pay your bills? That's exactly the question we're asking. We all know that manufacturer drug assistance programs can help patients afford and adhere to their medication regimen. But, while health insurers let you use them, increasingly they are no longer allowing the co-pay assistance to count toward your deductible.
So, after you've used up the value of your co-pay assistance, you're still on the hook for meeting your deductible!
It's simply wrong. We need to stop insurers from double dipping.
